Zoom Phone Pricing in 2026

Zoom Phone lists at $16 per user per month on an annual contract for the US & Canada Unlimited plan. That is the published number. What a real company signs, once term length, seat count, and the Zoom Workplace licenses are in the mix, is usually different. This page lays out the list prices, the fees that land on top of them, and where the negotiating room actually is.

Quick Answer

Zoom Phone costs $16 per user per month at list price on an annual contract, or roughly $19 per user per month billed month to month. That covers the US & Canada Unlimited plan, which is the tier most businesses buy. Zoom holds that rate flat no matter how many seats you have, so unlike most competitors the published price does not step down as you grow. Discounting shows up above 50 seats, where the ranges we see run roughly 8% to 21% below list. Below that the rate is quoted case by case. Two things move the real bill more than the plan does: video meetings are licensed separately from calling, and taxes and regulatory fees add roughly 10% to 20% on top of the seat rate.

Zoom Phone plans and list prices

Zoom sells calling as a license per user, and the unlimited plan is the one almost every business lands on. Month to month billing carries about a 20% premium over the annual rate.

PlanList price (annual)Approx. month to monthWhat is included
US & Canada Unlimited $16 /user/mo about $19 /user/mo Unlimited domestic calling, SMS, voicemail transcription, auto attendant, call recording, pairs with Zoom Meetings
Metered (pay per minute) Quote based Quote based Lower monthly license, calling billed by the minute. Suits low volume extensions
Global Select Quote based Quote based Domestic calling in supported countries outside the US and Canada, priced by country mix

We publish only list prices we have verified, so tiers marked quote based get priced for you rather than guessed at. Zoom Contact Center is a separate product with its own per agent license.

Set expectations honestly on Zoom. Zoom already prices near the floor, so this is not a platform with 40% hiding in it. At 50 seats and under we quote the rate case by case and it holds close to list. Above 50 seats we typically see 8% to 21% below list, with the deeper end at the largest counts.

What you actually pay by team size

Set your team size below. The calculator shows the published list price for that seat band and the range we see on recently signed Zoom Phone agreements at the same size.

Zoom Phone list prices verified June 7, 2026.

Zoom behaves differently from everyone else here. RingCentral, GoTo Connect, 8x8, and Nextiva all publish list prices that fall as seat count rises. Zoom publishes one flat number and holds it, so the discount comes from the agreement rather than the rate card.

251 to 500$16 /user/moAbout 15% to 21% below list
500 or more$16 /user/moAbout 15% to 21% below list

Work a real example. Take 60 seats on US & Canada Unlimited. At list that is $960 per month, or $11,520 per year. At the 8% to 14% below list we see at that size, the same 60 seats land near $830 to $890 per month, or about $9,960 to $10,680 per year. That is roughly $840 to $1,560 a year on identical service.

Now take 20 seats. List is $320 per month, and the calculator shows no discount range at that size. The win there comes from the pieces around it: a longer term in exchange for a locked price, waived porting, bundled desk phones, or packaging Zoom Workplace so calling and video are not two unrelated line items.

What the plan includes, and what it does not

The unlimited plan covers domestic calling, SMS, voicemail, auto attendant, and call recording. The two things it explicitly excludes are international calling and contact center, and both are real products you may need.

Add-ons that change the bill

The seat rate is the headline. These are the items that move the invoice away from it.

  • Toll free numbers and minutes. The number carries a monthly charge and inbound usage is billed per minute on top. If you run campaigns to a toll free line, model the minutes.
  • International calling. Excluded from the unlimited plan. You buy an add-on or pay per minute by destination. Bring the list of countries you actually call.
  • Extra direct dial numbers. The first number per user is normally included. Departmental, fax, location, and vanity numbers are each priced individually.
  • AI transcription and call summaries. An add-on on Zoom Phone rather than a bundled feature. If your team wants automatic notes on every call, price it per user from the start.
  • Contact center seats. Zoom Contact Center is a separate SKU with a per agent license. Queues, skills based routing, and supervisor tooling live there, not in the phone plan.
  • E911 and 911 service fees. Charged per line or per location and rarely quoted up front. Multi site businesses feel this more than single office ones.
  • Desk phone hardware. Rentals run about $3 per device per month for a basic Yealink T33G or Poly E100, $5 for a premium T44G or E300, and $7 for an executive T54W or E500. Buying outright is about $100, $150, and $250. Renting for four years costs more than buying. Full detail in our phone hardware guide.

Taxes, fees and surcharges

Advertised VoIP pricing almost never includes tax. Federal Universal Service Fund contributions, regulatory recovery fees, 911 fees, and state and local telecom taxes are added at invoice time, and together they typically add roughly 10% to 20% on top of the quoted per seat rate.

On a $16 seat that is about $1.60 to $3.20 per user per month, or up to $3,840 a year across 100 seats. The percentage varies by state, so ask for a sample invoice modeled for your billing address. Our guide to VoIP taxes and fees covers which charges are genuine pass throughs and which are margin dressed up as a fee.

Contract terms and what drives the price

Four things decide what you pay, and only one of them is the plan you pick.

Billing term. Annual billing is about 20% cheaper than month to month. That is a large gap, and it is the easiest saving available to a company that already knows it is staying.

Term length. One, two, and three year agreements all exist. Longer terms buy a better rate and, more importantly, a rate locked against increases. Two years is the balance point for most businesses.

Seat count. Fifty seats is the visible threshold on Zoom. Commit to the number you will realistically reach, but carefully, because committed seats are usually billable whether or not they are assigned.

What else you buy. Bundling Zoom Workplace, contact center seats, or a hardware refresh into one agreement gives you leverage a phone only deal does not. Auto renew is standard and early termination usually means paying out the term, so read both clauses first.

Hidden costs and what surprises people

Video is a separate license. This is the big one. A Zoom Phone license covers calling. Zoom Meetings, and the Zoom Workplace bundle it sits inside, are licensed on their own. Companies already paying for Zoom video get an excellent deal because Phone is a small addition to existing spend. Everyone else risks comparing a $16 phone license against a competitor plan that includes video. Compare bundle to bundle.

Contact center is a different product. If any part of your business runs a queue, that team is licensed separately. Finding out after the phone contract is signed weakens your position, because you have nothing left to trade.

Month to month drift. Signing monthly for flexibility and then staying three years is the most expensive way to buy Zoom Phone.

Renewal creep. Auto renew is the default. If the rate is not locked for the full term in writing, the renewal quote can arrive higher than what you have been paying.

How Zoom Phone pricing compares

Entry list price for a small team, per user per month on an annual contract. List against list, Zoom is the cheapest way into a tier one platform, though the gap narrows at volume because providers with higher list prices discount harder.

How to pay less than list

Six things that actually work on a Zoom Phone deal.

  • Bill annually. About 20% saved for a decision you were making anyway.
  • Quote your real seat count, then the next band up. At 45 seats and hiring, the 51 seat quote may be worth committing to.
  • Lock the rate for the full term in writing. A good year one price with an open renewal is not a good deal.
  • Bundle deliberately. Workplace licenses, contact center seats, and hardware in one agreement buy more than three separate conversations.
  • Get every one-time fee listed. Porting, professional services, 10DLC, and e911 belong on the quote, not on the first invoice.
  • Have it quoted against two alternatives. A competing quote is the only leverage that consistently moves a rate.

That last point is what we do. We hold the wholesale agreements, quote Zoom Phone next to the platforms that genuinely fit, and say so when a different one is the better buy. Get a Zoom Phone quote →

Frequently asked questions

How much does Zoom Phone cost per user in 2026?

Zoom Phone lists at $16 per user per month on an annual contract for the US & Canada Unlimited plan, or roughly $19 per user per month billed month to month. That list rate is flat across every seat count. Real discounting starts above 50 seats, where we typically see 8% to 21% below list depending on size.

Does Zoom Phone have a free plan or a free trial?

There is no free Zoom Phone plan. Every seat is a paid license. Zoom does offer a free trial, which few UCaaS platforms do. Use it to test call quality on your actual network before you sign, because that is the one thing a quote cannot tell you.

Is there a setup fee for Zoom Phone?

There is usually no line item called a setup fee, but implementation is where costs hide. Porting is normally free, professional services for call flow design may be quoted separately, and 10DLC registration for business texting carries a one-time charge. Ask for every one-time cost in writing.

Can you negotiate Zoom Phone pricing?

Yes, but be realistic about how much. Zoom prices low from the start, so at 50 seats and under the rate is quoted case by case and holds close to list. Above 50 seats we see roughly 8% to 21% below list. At smaller counts the leverage is term length, waived fees, and bundling, not the per seat number.

What is the cheapest Zoom Phone plan?

The metered pay per minute tier is the cheapest way in. It charges a lower monthly license plus usage, which suits low volume extensions such as warehouse or back office phones. For anyone on the phone all day, the US & Canada Unlimited plan at $16 is cheaper once the minutes are counted.

Does the Zoom Phone price go up after the first year?

It can. Most agreements auto renew, and unless the contract locks the rate for the full term, renewal is where the number drifts back toward list. Get the rate held in writing, ask what happens at renewal, and set a reminder 90 days before the end date.

How much does Zoom Phone cost for 50 users?

At list, 50 users on the US & Canada Unlimited plan is $800 per month, or $9,600 per year, before taxes and fees. Fifty seats sits right at the edge of where volume pricing starts, so quote it at 50 and again just above. Taxes add roughly 10% to 20% on top.

How does Zoom Phone pricing compare to RingCentral?

Zoom Phone is cheaper at list, $16 per user per month against RingCentral Core at $30 for a small team. RingCentral discounts harder, so the gap narrows at volume, and it includes deeper contact center and integration features. If you need those, the comparison is not purely about rate.

Are Zoom Meetings included with Zoom Phone?

A Zoom Phone license covers calling. Video meetings are licensed separately through Zoom Meetings or a Zoom Workplace bundle. Teams already paying for Zoom video often find Phone is the cheapest add they make all year. Teams that are not should price the bundle, not the phone line.
